General Magic is the slightly flashy alternative to Mental Magic. It is more expensive, both in terms of spellpoint consumption and in that some spells require material components, but gives more powerful results.

When a general spell is cast, a spell timer starts counting down, and the spell is cast when the trigger reaches zero. It is important to note that mental magic can be used while the spell timer is counting down. Most material components for general spells can be bought at the Magic Box, which is south of the State and Main intersection. It also appears that if General Magic is high enough, material components for spells can be waived.
